What We Do - Community Service & Outreach
Thanksgiving Food Baskets
The Kiwanis Club of St. Marys partners with the Salvation Army to deliver baskets of food to families in need in Camden County. The Salvation Army identifies families, while the Kiwanis Club involves local schools to collect canned goods. Sailors from Kings Bay Naval Sub Base assist in collecting the donated foods from the schools and then join with Kiwanis members in sorting the donated canned goods for each family. The club also purchases turkeys and food staples to add to the baskets we deliver to the families.
Kiwanis One Day
Each year in the spring the Kiwanis Club of St. Marys takes a day for a beautification project in our community. Past projects have included painting and landscaping at the Gilman Waterfront Park, painting and landscaping at the Boys Home, painting and maintenance at local parks. This project is in partnership with K-Kids, Builders Club, Key Club, DEFY, Sea Cadets and other community organizations.
Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign
The Kiwanis Club of St. Marys partners with the Salvation Army to "RING THE BELL" during their Red Kettle Campaign.
Adopt-A-Highway
The Kiwanis Club of St. Marys participates in the community's roadside trash pick-up. Kiwanians and Key Club members have a quarterly clean-up morning at the intersection of St. Marys Road and Highway 40.
